In which I am sidetracked by my anger at radical feminists
I am supposed to be writing a 1350 word essay
and this is not it
enjoy.
On a personal note, I think that feminist methods can be barring in their own way because individuals who undertake a feminist methodology may be blinded from other ways of thinking. While geographers researching from a feminist methodology may be opposed to widespread research directed by the narrative of a male-dominated society, they are not able to obtain a viewpoint that transcends gender altogether. For example, I think it’s immature to call attention to the injustice at hand by ringing off the percentage of women versus men occupying a certain position. Not only is this changing, but many claims made by radical feminists invalidate the cause and are, frankly, quite embarrassing. I think that in this day and age, a woman of equal intellectual ability to a man might actually be more likely to be hired because of infantile “hiring quotas”- which choose workers based on gender instead of capability, exactly the factor that feminists were supposedly trying to eradicate.
Like it or not, the two sexes are different. The evolution of mammals have lead to certain biological distinctions that cause the two sexes to tend to excel at different things. While there are, of course, exceptions, the fact that different abundances of hormones lead to different muscle and fat distributions is not something decided by society at large. That doesn’t mean that women can’t build muscle to have the same physical strength, but it does mean that if they don’t exert different levels of effort, they will be better suited to different jobs. Take the job description of a construction worker, for example. When asked to lift X number of pounds, which would qualify the individual to perform a task at the work site, male applicants were able to lift it above their heads, whereas only a few female applicants were able to, if they were able to lift it at all. In this case, it made the male applicants more suited to the job. Is this sexist?
It has been said that for every action, there is an equal reaction. Like the swinging of a pendulum, when society has tired of one radical idea, forces shift and the opposite gains momentum and support. I would consider myself a feminist, but I don’t want to send all men to the moon… Those who make sweeping claims about how women endure unrealistic expectations of beauty and then turn around and cake on layers of makeup, altogether ignoring the actual suffering of women in other parts of the world, puzzle me. In a way they make themselves worse off by complaining, while I believe that if they stopped and took a critical look at their surroundings, and thought of themselves not in terms of women, men or any gender whatsoever, could understand the fact that any sexual forces behind peoples’ actions is something that can both limit and inspire.
Next time on Rants of a 90’s Kid: Is it humane and academically sanctioned for professors to force students to buy outrageously priced self-authored textbooks that they produce a new edition of each year (making previous versions obsolete by dicking up page numbers)?

i thought my project was due at 9pm

oh my god I fucking hate geographers, sociologists and urbanists
at least from science academics they all write with the same intonation
these fuckers all have different idealistic notions. I bet their parents loved them too much and told them they were special snowflakes

The day before my warranty expired, I talked to every person working at the microsoft store until they agreed to send it to microsoft for me in exchange for a new one.

social media is a global cesspool
TUMBLR: a way to appear or feel creative while feeding your ego by not creating anything, but reblogging everything
FACEBOOK: a digital circlejerk, wherein you share personal information with people you aren't actually friends with
REDDIT: ok, but I still think 50% are there for porn, 49% of them are shut-ins, and the remaining 1% are there for whatever else redditors discuss
social media can be effective if used properly, but too often it's just a way for uninformed people to flail around, make unproductive people feel good, or is a platform for advertising.
*is a hypocrite*

why did i make a blog?
really i'm not quite sure myself.
maybe its so i get to neglect grammar
maybe its so i can forget what capitalization is
maybe its because im lonely
maybe its because all of my friends are slowly drifting away from me
maybe im having a quarter-life crisis like that one kind from "It's Kind of a Funny Story"
maybe its so i can reference novels that no one has heard of where no one can judge me
maybe its so i can add to this list when im procrastinating
maybe its because my former best friend and adopted sister and life confidant destroyed our relationship because she was in crazy in love with me (and also clinically crazy) and couldnt handle it and half of my life lost its meaning
maybe it was actually just me being a dick, but i honestly dont really think so
